Through the night your angels kept
Watch beside us while we slept;
Now the dark- has passed away,
Thank you, God, for this new day.
North and south and east and west
May your holy Name be blessed;
Everywhere- beneath the sun,
As in heav'n, your will- be done.
Give us food that we may live;
Every thoughtlessness please forgive;
Keep all evil things away

7 Render service with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not to men and women, 8 knowing that whatever good we do, we will receive the same again from the Lord, whether we are slaves or free.

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ's glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever.
